Txttools Rebrand
Background
txttools® are the UK's leading supplier of txt messaging services to the education, medical and business sectors. They offer an online SMS text message application that allows messages to be securely sent and received from a desktop computer to large groups or single mobile phones.
Problem
Having experienced rapid growth over the last few years, txttools® needed to up the ante with their brand communications to take the business to the next level, stimulate further growth in sales and match their exterior appearance with the high quality product and service. Although txttools® already had a market leading position there was room to completely differentiate the business from its competitors, thus reinforcing their grip on the sector.
Brand work
The way txttools® marketed their existing product portfolio was a little over-complex. It was a mix of sector-branded (i.e. edutxt, meditxt) products and application-led products (conferencetxt). Picking your way through the products was difficult and confusing.

As part of the re-brand we rationalised the portfolio of products, redesigned the brand identity by refreshing elements of the old one and created a whole new brand proposition: simple.clever. This perfectly reflects the simple to use, cutting edge technology developed by txttools®.
The core txttools® product is modular so you can 'bolt-on' bits of added functionality. This makes selling the product difficult as it is a truly bespoke system for some clients. The sales team were struggling to fully illustrate how the product could benefit customers due to the size and scope of what was on offer. Our answer was to create the 'wheel of fortune', a simple graphic device that illustrates exactly what txttools® can do. This also becomes a useful selling tool to use in powerpoint presentations.
Further brand development included a new design and build of a new website, sales literature, sales presentations and exhibition material as well as branding the txtools® office environment.
As a design feature, the new txttools® business cards featured a 'QR code' on the reverse, which when scanned by a mobile phone instantly adds the contact details into the address book.
Design works...
Positive feedback has been received from clients and employees a-like resulting in fresh impetus and new client wins. The sales team have a new set of materials which simplify how the product works. This has given them increased confidence in sales presentations and has resulted in a rise in sales conversions.
